Century Motorsport have teamed up with the Sports 2000 Duratec Championship to offer this years champion a GT test in one of their title contenting Ginetta’s at the end of the year.

The opportunity to get involved with the Sports 2000 Duratec Championship came about after 2016 champion Michael Gibbins tested with the team last October to evaluate his options for the 2017 season. Buoyed by the opportunity, Series organizer Mike Turner and Team Principal Nathan Freke concluded a deal to make the opportunity an official prize for the 2017 season.

The Sports 2000 Duratec Championship is one of a number of proving grounds for aspiring GT drivers with their calendar featuring events at Oulton Park, Silverstone, Snetterton, Castle Combe, Spa-Francorchamps before finishing up as a support class for the world famous Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival.

Supporting this championship marks another important step for Century Motorsport as we look to expand our team in 2017 alongside our new Ginetta G57-P2 programme, with some further exciting developments to be announced in the coming weeks.

Nathan Freke – Team Principal, Century Motorsport:
“I’ve always been keen to put something back into the sport where we can and the opportunity to work with Mike and the Sports 2000 Duratec Championship is a perfect fit for us. Michael Gibbins put on a good display last year when he tested for us so I’m looking forward to seeing what this year’s champion can do behind the wheel of one of our cars.”

Mike Turner – Sports 2000 Duratec Championship:
“Sports 2000 is delighted to be working with Century Motorsport and feel that the GT test will be of great appeal to existing and future drivers. Some of our competitors will be looking to move in to GT racing in the future and this will be an ideal opportunity to get to know a top team in that arena.”
