Many congratulations to both of our 2025 Champions.

Here’s a few words and reflections on the season from our Champions

Nik Johnson  (Lola T88/90)

“It has indeed been a memorable year for Team JSE, Car #62 in 2025.

As most know, 2024 season started, and ended rather abruptly at the first weekend at Silverstone after having the most serious incident in all my years of driving. I did however say to myself and to Les as I was lying in hospital, somewhat inebriated by hospital supplied narcotics, that I was ‘not done’ racing. I was not going to stop at this point.

The support from the wider SRCC was fantastic after my incident, and proved to me again what a genuine grid of racers and enthusiasts the SRCC is. So I entered the 2025 season with a renewed enthusiasm and drive to prove to myself that I was still racing at a competitive level.

Silverstone national circuit as the season opener was obviously more emotional than most, having not been back since my incident, but once on track, any thoughts were soon banished and I managed to get back to back wins along with a new lap record.

A great start for the season, and one which proved to be the start to some further good results as I managed to win all the Historic pinto races in which I finished across the season. The only blemish in the season being a DNF at one of the Silverstone GP rounds due to an unlucky mechanical failure.

I had some great races at various tracks, being run hard by John Harmer at Zolder, and also by Marcus Weller and Will Schryver at Donington GP circuit, but it was the overall reliability of my car which greatly assisted me on the way to the championship. This is of course due to the efforts and attention to detail by those who support me and who’s efforts I could not race without. Les, as Team principle, is always there with a wise word and a challenging question, (or statement?!) to keep me thinking and pushing. To Jack and Tammy, who have given of their time to look after the car at weekends and give me the bandwidth to concentrate on driving the car and to my brother Richard, who never races anything other than flat out, and is a great help. Also to Mike Turner, my mentor in many aspects of my racing weekends.

last put a championship together in 2005 in the Duratec series before I had a mid- life period of racing retirement. So 20 years forward and here we are creating some great memories in 2025 for me and the whole JSE team.

My lap record at Brands GP was one of the best laps I have ever put together, but the conversations, laughs and stories shared with my team and others from the SRCC, specifically at Zolder and Snetterton will stay with me for a long while to come. I look forward to seeing you out on track or in the paddock in 2026; I just need to decide what car I am going to enter!”

Josh Law (MCR S2n)

“2025 has been a really competitive season with lots of close racing and I’ve enjoyed sharing the track and paddock with everyone in the Sports2000 field. There’s been a huge amount of hard work behind the scenes to keep us on the grid this year, so it’s nice to reward that with some great results. I must say a huge thank you to my Dad for the opportunity and all his hard work. Also everyone at team Law, it’s been awesome! Finally a huge thanks to Mike at Creative Funding Solutions for all your support.”
